We Love Books and We Cannot Lie!

We sent a survey asking staff about their favorite books and what genre they preferred. We received a wide variety of responses from each department each with different opinions. In findings that will come to a shock to no one, English teachers seemed to prefer fantasy or fiction books while math teachers preferred nonfiction books. In the beginning of February, Newspaper club asked about your favorite cafe lunches. We gathered a good number of responses and the overall consensus was that sandwich wraps are the best school lunch. Coming in at a strong number two was General Tso’s. She agreed that the favorite…

This year, Mrs. Ritchie had a particularly difficult time choosing the theme, as this is her last year as the art teacher here before she retires. She chose the theme of Dr. Suess and P. D. Eastman, who were both authors of beloved children’s books. Mrs. Ritchie chose this theme because she knew that it would…

Once students arrived at the pep rally, they sat in their assigned areas in the gym. At the start of the pep rally, all of the winter athletes ran into…

Satire: Making people laugh and scratch their heads since the dawn of time.

AP English Language & Composition, often referred to as AP Lang, is one of the AP classes offered here at THS. In the class, students learn about rhetoric and how to write a strong essay in a short amount of time. One of the units in this class is the satire unit. It was my favorite part of the class, and if you ask anyone else they will probably say the same. In this unit,…
